# Creating an Event
Only users who have been enabled to use CRM Event Manager and granted the appropriate permissions can create events.
To create a new event:
1. Log in to Sage CRM using an account that has Event Manager access.
2. Click **Events** from the top menu.
1. The Events screen displays a list of all existing events.
2. Click **New Event**.
1. Enter the event details and save the record.
A rich text editor is provided to create and format event details for publication through the CRM Event Manager Web Portal.
Advanced users can also edit the HTML source if required.
