# Creating Contract Documents
**CRM Contract Manager** allows users to generate contract documents directly from the Contract Summary screen.
To generate a contract document:
1. Open the required **contract**.
2. Click **Create Contract** Document.
The system generates an Adobe PDF document using the assigned contract template and merges the attached contract clauses into the document. The generated document is automatically stored under the **Documents** tab of the contract.
**Note**
To view the Contract Document and Contract Summary, ensure that the **Sage CRM Document Plugin** is installed in the CRM system.
**Contract Templates**
Contract templates are stored in the Sage CRM Library and categorized by contract type.
During the installation of CRM Contract Manager, two contract templates are added automatically.
When a new contract is created:
* The appropriate template is copied from the Library.
* The copied template is attached to the contract.
* Any modifications made to the attached template affect only that contract.
Attached templates are available under the **Documents** tab and are stored in Microsoft Word (.doc) format.
#### Create Contract Summary
Users can generate a PDF **Contract Summary Sheet** by clicking **Create Contract Summary** from the Contract Summary page.
